Purpose
Cherokee County GA Auxiliary Communication, a.k.a. CCGAAUXCOMM is a collaborative program that can offer resources to support emergency communications in Cherokee County, Georgia and beyond depending on the circumstances. The AUXCOMM program does not replace, compete, or conflict with any groups currently responsible for providing communications support. Cherokee County GA Auxiliary Communications supports all Amateur Radio, ARES, RACES, Cherokee AREA Preparedness Groups, REACT units, CERT units, etc. Cherokee County Auxcomm supports Cherokee County ARES with multiple access to 2-way radio repeaters for use 24/7 for training, Community events, and Emergency Communications. ARES has played a crucial role in numerous disaster responses, including hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, ice/snow storms, and wildfires. Amateur radio operators have provided essential communication links when other systems were down, ensuring that emergency services can coordinate effectively.
CCGAAUXCOMM is Organization Neutral.
